In our experience the most rewarding safari camps are the small and often privately owned ones, created by people with a deep knowledge of a particular park. Emphasis tends to be on food, service and top quality guiding. These places tend to be unique and by definition eco-sensitively operated.

 

These places are an experience in themselves rather than simply a place to stay. In the context of safari, we see luxury as freedom to do what you want when you want, so price in these camps isn’t simply a factor of how much cut glass there is on the dinning table. Some of what we would regard as the best camps may actually be fairly basic, but offer first rate service and an experience which is totally unique.

 

There are other types of camp and lodge available in Tanzania, which we regard as purely functional; in basic terms you can use them as a motel from which to base your self and access some world class game. We fully recognize that not everybody wants or needs luxury, and some may choose to mix a few days of luxury with a few at more simple accommodation – it’s not a bad way to bring things into budget. What we won’t compromise on is the way on which you conduct your game viewing.
